Concerning News

So, found out yesterday that my dad was rushed to emergency Sunday night, having terrible difficulty breathing. Things like this always remind me of a striking problem we, as Christians, suffer.

If, heaven forbid, something untoward were to happen to my father, I know from my faith that he would go on to be with our creator. But as a human, I don't want anyone in my life to go anywhere. It kind of makes me feel selfish, really.

Anyway - have to shake off these thoughts - once he's back out, I'm going to bug him to keep writing devotionals for this site.

I have to agree with this statement. It is never easy to say "good-bye". However, we have to come to terms with the fact that our loved WILL one day leave this life, and we will mourn for them - not simply because they've died and gone on to higher and better places, but rather that they are no longer in our presence. We DO have the comfort though, that someday we too shall leave this life, only to be joined up with them again. That thought gives me much comfort when my heart feels like it wants to break and I get sad. They are there, waiting for us. They are alive in another, glorious realm. But yes. Dad still has much to offer before he goes to glory. So write on, dear dad! Get better. Love ya!
